In the box – Deep creek super razor beetle
Product Description
Deep Creek Lures introduced the floating DC Super Razor Beetle creature bait to give the serious angler another weapon in their arsenal of fine baits. The DC Super Razor Beetle is a full 4¾ inches of a large fish’s worst nightmare! Its irresistible floating design features a very unusual body with a high action tail. Two large thrashing flat tails, plus a leg on each side helps the body crash through grass and slide around lily pads, stumps and other heavy cover. The DC Super Razor Beetle has a slight groove in its body allowing the bait to be virtually weedless.
Pro Tips
Most creature style baits like the DC Super Razor Beetle do not float, so the buoyancy of this bait is a really unique characteristic and one that you can use to your advantage as an angler. Rig this bait on a shaky head (or even something like the Bait Rigs Tackle Football Heads) and it will float up off the bottom with a very natural and enticing action. Let this bait “dead stick” a lot, as the natural current of the water will impart some action, even when you’re not moving your rod. A lot of bites will come on the pause.
Drew’s Notes
“One of my favorite ways to fish the DC Super Razor Beetle is with a light Texas rig. Something in the 1/8 – 1/4 oz range. This allows me to fish it almost like you would a stick bait or Senko, allowing for a really slow presentation. Pitch it around docks, bushes, trees or any structure that might be holding fish. Pay close attention to your line, because many times they take it while it’s dropping to the bottom.”
