Special ops survivors partners with lucky tackle box
Starting in May, Lucky Tackle Box will share information about Special Ops Survivors, an organization focused on embracing and empowering surviving spouses of fallen Special Operations personnel to build healthy post-loss futures, with its monthly subscription base.
San Diego, CA – Special Ops Survivors announced today that is has partnered with Lucky Tackle Box, the #1 rated monthly subscription box in fishing, to share the organization’s information with its subscribers. The company through its family of brands (Lucky Tackle Box, Fishhound & Chasing Trophy Bass) reaches over 4 million people per month. Lucky Tackle Box ships boxes jam-packed full of new baits and how-to videos each month to its subscriber base and will now include Special Ops Survivors information in some of those shipments, helping to educate more people about the organization with the goal of driving donations in support of their mission. The partnership is the first time Lucky Tackle Box has partnered with a nonprofit in this type of campaign.
“We are excited about this partnership and our ability to help such a great organization,” says Rick Patri, founder and COO of Lucky Tackle Box. “We have an engaged subscriber base and are happy we can capitalize on their support to help bring awareness and new donors to support Special Ops Survivors mission and programs.”
Special Ops Survivors is the only nonprofit organization exclusively dedicated to serving surviving spouses of active duty Army, Navy, Air Force and Marine Special Operations personnel who have died in combat or training since January 1, 1980. The organization embraces and empowers surviving spouses of fallen Special Operations personnel to build healthy post-loss futures as they transition to their new lives by providing individual, group, and peer-to-peer emotional support as well as individual financial support.
The partnership with Lucky Tackle Box was formed after Keri Klaus, Special Ops Survivors director of development, met Patri at the 2016 Bassmaster Classic. Klaus was there supporting another fundraiser held for the organization. Through TEAM Special Ops Survivors, which aims to honor the legacies of fallen heroes and survivors’ journeys as well as raise awareness about the organization through athletic events and competitions, the organization’s Outdoor Team has made fishing tournaments their focus. As a result, the fishing community has rallied around the organization through various events and fundraisers to help support Special Ops Survivors and their community of surviving spouses.
“The fishing community has been very supportive of our organization and when Rick approached us about this partnership, we knew it was a great opportunity,” says Sara Wingerath-Schlanger, executive director of Special Ops Survivors. “We are grateful for Lucky Tackle Box’s support and the ideas brought to us about promoting the organization through their network.”
Over the last 13 years, the Special Ops Survivors has grown from a small grass-roots organization to an established organization actively serving more than 200 surviving spouses from all military service branches. For more information about the organization, visit, SpecialOpsSurvivors.org.
